Ann's Pastie's

This recipe comes from my friend Ann. She makes these and then freezes them individually for quick meals. We like to serve them with brown gravy.

10# potatoes, peeled and cubed
6# roast, cubed
2 3/4 c onions, chopped
1 1/2 T pepper
4 T salt

Crust:
10 c flour
3/4 c shortening
1/8 c salt
3 c water

Mix top ingredients together to make meat mixture. To make crust: Cut shortening into flour and salt. Add 2 1/2 c water and then add more as needed up to 3 1/2 cups. Roll out a dinner plate sized piece of crust. Fill with meat mixture and then fold closed. May also add 1 T of butter in each pastie. Cook at 350-375 for 1 hour. Serve or freeze.
